Our Renovation Project
During the 2023-2024 season, Over Our Head Players launched a Capital Campaign for the purpose of making renovations and improvements that would benefit both our audience and our volunteers.
- New, larger seats (with cup holders!)
- New risers to give our audience a good clear view
- New state of the art lighting grid & LED lights
- New industry standard sound board & speakers
- Replacement of all stage curtains and sound panels
- Backstage & dressing room upgrades
- New power tools & shop equipment
A Generous Offer
Over Our Head Players has been producing live theater for 34 years and at our location on Sixth Street for 25 of those! Over the years, our theater has gone through a lot of changes, all to improve the experience we want to give to our patrons and performers. Val and Gary Zamencnik generously offered to match donations up to $50,000. Over the next several months we received that amount and more, bringing our overall total to more than $100,000 in donations! We are deeply grateful to all our donors and supporters.
Work Begins
As soon as the last show of the 2023-2024 season closed, our staff and volunteers were tearing out the old risers and seats, cleaning, painting, and getting the theatre space ready for the brand-new arrivals. They worked tirelessly from June through early September, until everything was finished, and we were able to open the 2024-2025 season in a fresh updated theatre.

Over Our Head Players is exceedingly grateful to our patrons, donors, and amazing volunteers for their generosity, both of money and of time. With their help we can keep pulling back the curtain on one of Southeast Wisconsin’s most unique community theaters and continue to build a theatrical legacy that audiences can enjoy well into the future!
